EPRD says "Get your play on!"

Written by Lisa Hamm-Greenawalt on .

Summer is here, which means it's time to get your play on. This July, discover the power of play with Evergreen Park & Recreation District (EPRD) as it celebrates Park and Recreation Month. A variety of fun activities are planned for residents of all ages and abilities - including outdoor concerts, free fitness classes, a scavenger hunt, a trail race, and a big community party!

EPRD is celebrating Park and Recreation Month, an initiative of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), and all the ways parks and recreation have the power to transform our daily lives. From providing us places to play, get fit and stay healthy to fostering new relationships and forging a connection with nature, our close-to-home community park and recreation facilities provide essential services and improve quality of life.

"Play is important for our health and well-being and EPRD programs and amenities are great ways to get out and be active," says EPRD Executive Director Ellen O'Connor. "I encourage everyone to discover the power of play and join us in celebrating Park and Rec month in July!"

EPRD will offer indoor and outdoor events and activities for all ages at Buchanan Park Recreation Center, Wulf Recreation Center, Evergreen Lake House, and multiple EPRD parks. On July 13, the District will hold a Summer Soiree Community Appreciation Party, in partnership with the Evergreen Chamber of Commerce, from 5-7:30 PM at Buchanan.
