Kiwanians honor Students of the Year

Written by Beth Foster on .

In a tribute to outstanding Evergreen, Indian Hills, and Clear Creek County students, Blue Spruce Kiwanis held its annual “Students of the Year” luncheon May 3 at Hiwan Golf Club. Fourteen students, 5th grade through high school, were honored with an elegant lunch buffet and certificates of achievement. The four graduating seniors—two each from Evergreen and Clear Creek high schools—also received engraved plaques and $250 checks to help with college expenses. The Hiwan banquet room was packed with family members, teachers and principals eager to celebrate their respective scholars.

The honorees were selected by their schools’ teachers, principals, anc counselors. They were recognized at the luncheon with speeches by their teachers and/or principals highlighting the reasons they were nominated.
